This past May the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR) meeting took place in Montreal. The Pre-INSAR local community conference was opened to the public and many professionals from different fields, families, and self-advocates attended the conference.
The morning sessions were led by keynotes from the main INSAR conference and the afternoon workshops were facilitated by local researchers and clinicians. The sessions covered a range of topics from neuroscience and genetics to bilingualism and citizenship. Over a dozen studies conducted in partnership with the SCERT were presented at INSAR 2019.
Several staff members from Summit School attended the Pre-INSAR local community conference and the Autism Creates event.
The Autism Creates event was an evening dedicated to performances and art displays from the autism communities. Several paintings and art displays from Summit School students were showcased as well as performances from Summit alumni and current students.
